Toberman welcomes Volunteers! We welcome teen interns and volunteer service group projects. Often, volunteers like to start out in one of our ongoing projects and then use their creativity to develop a new and exciting project. It’s up to you! Please see the following list of projects that always need volunteer support:
Assist in the Toberman Food Pantry by helping to:
Monday – Friday 9:00 – 11:30 am & 1:30 – 3:00 pm (closed Tuesdays).
Volunteers organize, recruit, and run a drive to help supply our Food Pantry and provide for the needs of our community.
To assist energetic youth ages 5-10 (TLC) or 11-16 years of age (Youth Services) after school. Help the youth with homework completion, reading, math, writing, and playing educational games.
Come have fun in the summer sun with our youth ages 5-10 in our Toberman Summer Day Camp. Lend a hand as the kids rotate through different activities on the Toberman campus: math lab, computer lab, reading lab, free time, recreation, and arts & crafts.
*Note the summer schedule is tentative as the youth have field trips every week.
This is our most popular and interactive program! It allows a group or individual to pick one day a month to come serve a hot meal to our children at 4:30 pm, immediately after homework time. The group prepares the food and brings all the paper goods to feed approximately 150 children. A balanced meal is appreciated, as Toberman encourages “healthy eating” habits in our youth.
With the arrival of our Olympic-sized basketball gym, we need help teaching athletic skills and developing team sports for our youth. Volunteers can help by participating in after-school recreation or organized team sports.
