

Parenting Classes
The parenting classes offered at Toberman strengthen the family unit by teaching effective parenting skills and creating opportunities for positive family bonding.
Toberman offers three different parenting classes:
- THE PARENT / TEEN PROJECT is designed to help parents and teens reconnect and form wholesome domestic groupings. These programs follow two complementary curriculum streams. For parents, the curriculum covers understanding the developmental characteristics of children, communication skills, discipline, and modeling. While the teens, ages 13-18, discuss peer pressure, drug and alcohol abuse, anger management, critical thinking and communication skills. Offered in English and Spanish.
- LOVING SOLUTIONS addresses the issues pertinent to elementary-aged children. The curriculum consists of negotiation training, discipline techniques, family cohesion awareness, and interaction enhancement. Offered in English and Spanish.
- L.A.U.S.D. SKILLFUL PARENTING is designed for adult parents. Skillful Parenting covers child development, family budgeting, discipline, communication skills, anger management techniques and modeling. This class fulfills mandated court and Department of Child and Family Services requirements.
