Computer Literacy Classes

The FamilySource Center provides multiple computer literacy programs to encourage clients to enhance their typing, internet search, and online application skills. The Computer Literacy program provides the following services:

  • Club Tech Class covers introduction to desktop, typing skills, navigation skills and internet safety, introduction to productivity reference (Microsoft Office Suite), and educational software, learning internet search skills to find and review information, how computers work, indentifying parts, and knowing technical terms.
  • Club Tech is broken down by age group:
  • Clicky’s Web World for ages 6-7
  • NetSmartz Rules for ages 8-12
  • NSTeens: I-360 for ages 13-17.

 

Adult PC Literacy Class covers computer hardware, software, and introduction to MS Word, MS Excel & MS Outlook, email, letter creation, basic spreadsheet creation and use.

 

Open Computer Lab:

Open Computer Lab is available to FamilySource Center clients for such things as creating an online email account and checking their email, researching online job postings, Internet research, updating and posting their resume online, or accessing the State Employment Development Department website and signing up for unemployment benefits.
