Pre-Employment Services

The Pre-employment Support services program utilizes the following tools to prepare clients for work:

Collaborative agreements with Harbor Occupational Center and Pacific Gateway Worksource make available skill-building opportunities on the Toberman campus.

Adult Job Preparation Class covers resume writing, interview prep and skills, work place behavior, work ethics, dress code, phone etiquette, general office skills (fax machine, filling, copy machine, answering telephones, etc), online application education, and job search assistance. Offered in English and Spanish

Hire LA Youth covers resume writing, interview prep and skills, work place behavior, dress code, online application education, and job search assistance. Upon completion clients receive a certificate of completion and are registered with the county database for job openings.

We refer clients to WorkSource Centers for specific job training, job leads, job fair participation, and Employment Development Department services.

We connect and refer clients to employment support services that include: One Source Centers, Goodwill, Youth Employment Training, and local, city and county job fairs.

We instruct clients how to use our on-site Public Counsel Attorney services to address employment barriers such as criminal record expungement.
